HOME > STUDIO DIARY

After the great acceptance of the EP "The Autumn Ends", released at the beginning of 2008, finally Lacryma Sanguine begins the recordings of its Debut Album, from now you will follow a session diary with everything that has been happening in the studio and on the progress of recordings. The official release is foreseen for mid of 2009 on Europe, USA and Canada officially by north-american label KillZone Records. The title of the album is already defined and will be revealed officially with its tracklist, soon.
Drums Sessions - Gladson Rodrigues
After go searching for some parts of the drums, we have reached the studio about 10 A.M, everything was set up, the drums duly tuned up and tested for being able to start the recording of first track. More than everything else, it is worth to point the exit of our drummer Marcel Lucena (who played on "As The Autumn Ends" EP with us) due personal problems which have prevented him to continue in the band, this is why it was recruited a guest drummer (who already has rehearsing and playing with us for a time) but which possibly will be incorporated as the official drummer, his name is Gladson Rodrigues, an excellent musician with an excellent technique and musical theory which helped him enough to conclude all the drums in a single day.
But, back to the sessions, almost all the songs were recorded without any standstills or errors, for the guide songs were used MIDI's and every song was recorded with metronome. As was said earlier, the recordings began approximately 10 A.M, we had a small break for lunch (PIZZA!!!!) and everything has been concluded at around 4 P.M.
In the 2nd day we will begin the recordings of the rhythm guitars. Keep in touch for more updates!

Guitar Session - Rhythm guitar - André Barroso and Yuri Nobre
After recording the drums for all songs we pass to the rhythm guitar. The two guitarists were in the studio for some recording sessions for the rhythm and managed to complete them successfully. The timbre was very good and with a weight that we thought to the songs, further small changes made after recording the EP were made in some songs that came to further enrich the sound. We had the opportunity to record with two excellent guitars, a Jackson Kelly equipped with two pickups EMG 81/85 bridge / neck and a Gibson SG One, we opted for the latter that was used for the recording of the two guitarists due to the unique and beautiful sound and great weight proportionate to her, besides being a novelty in terms of timbre in materials recently released by the bands of the genre.

Guitar Session - Lead guitar - André Barroso and Yuri Nobre
Completed the rhythm, immediately left for the recording of all solos. The recording was made of the two guitarists with the same guitar used for bases. Everything was recorded with ease and the solos are all completed and just waiting the work of EQ and mixing. The next session will handle the recording of the bass guitar and the two guitarists will come to action again only when the recording of the acoustic guitars, which happened after the recording of synthesizers, Cellos, violins and pianos and so conclude the "strings session" and so conclude the vocals as well to begin the process of mixing and mastering the album.
